About us

From Guzabandu Mission and the Kalahari base in Namibia to the 20 hectares at Libala.

A visit that did not fade

In 2014, for the first time, together with a few brothers from Vechile Cărări church in Rădăuți, we spent two weeks in South Africa at Guzabandu Mission. What stayed with us were the families from the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, already in their third generation of service there.

On the flight home we made promises: we would get involved in Africa, especially among orphaned children. The promises lasted until we landed in Bucharest, and a few days more. Then each of us went back to his own work.

The call toward Namibia

A few months later God brought brother Sami Trif, a pastor in Craiova, to Maranata Rădăuți for a wedding. In the sermon he spoke about a mission he had visited in Namibia and invited people to go.

At the end of the service, my wife Cristina and I were the first to sign. A group of about 21 people formed, from Rădăuți, Vicov, Dej, Arad and Craiova. At the Kalahari base each person took up what they knew how to do. The base was then fragile, financially and spiritually. The brothers who had come from Romania formed a committee: to support the base and, in time, to open others in poor parts of Africa. Within a few months, with the Lord’s help, the Namibia base began to flourish.

Libala

In the autumn of 2022, after a long discussion, the brothers of the Kalahari Romania committee voted that I should take up Zambia and start again, from nothing, a work a sister from Austria had wanted to begin. She was alone, and she was caring for two very sick children.

In November 2022 I flew to Zambia for the first time with my son Ruben and his wife Cipriana. In the spring of 2023, with brother Sergiu Coroamă from Vicov, his wife, and brother Sergiu Bușmen, we laid the foundations of a base in Libala, about 55 km from Livingstone. The chief gave us 20 hectares of savannah beside a school of about 390 children.

In roughly three months, with the Sergiu brothers and 50 to 70 people, the 20 hectares were cleared, the land was fenced, two small houses went up, a well was dug, the church was built, and a store was made by joining two containers.

London, Italy, Romania

In 2023 brother Paul Circiu, an elder in Verona, invited me to an evangelistic campaign with Agape Mission in Oltenia. There I met brother Daniel Sepciuc. I invited him into the Zambia work, and he said they had been praying for some time about serving abroad.

In the spring of 2024, with Paul Circiu and a London group led by Daniel Sepciuc, they made their first exploration in Zambia. Early in 2025 Daniel returned with about 40 young people from London. They began the Devotional Hall for the Romanian volunteers. Sister Oana stayed at the base long term. In March and April 2025 a group from Italy, a group from Romania, brother Andrei Mutu and D.T. started houses 3 and 4.

About 390 children come to the base three times a week. Sister Oana, Derec, a pastor from Livingstone and other local people sit with them for Bible study and lessons fitted to their age. In the summer of 2025 the families of Sergiu Culda (with three children) and Cristi Trip (with four children) served there for about three months.

Looking back, we see the Lord’s hand in every step. What has been done has been by his grace, by prayer, and by the cost paid by those who answered. Thus far the Lord has helped us.
